ABOUT WEAVER: Anju is a 27-year-old weaver from Aspura. Her parents taught her to weave and she has been carrying this art gracefully for 15 years now. She is a mother of 2 children-a son and a daughter. Her husband works as a mason in the village. Anju is fond of socializing with people and is a huge fan of old songs especially melodies by Mohammed Rafi are close to her heart.

ABOUT WEAVER: Harinarayan and his wife, Champa Devi are a happy couple, with 2 daughters, a son, 5 goats and 2 baby goats in their home at Aaspura village of Rajasthan. While the eldest daughter is married, the younger children are pursuing BA in education. Although Champa Devi could not receive education due to gender discrimination against girl education prevailing in the villages, she is glad to have been able to provide education to her daughters. The couple has been weaving for more than 2 decades now but had never got a chance to make their own design before. Excited to have this opportunity, the couple has now woven multiple designs for the artisan collection.

ABOUT WEAVER: A mother of 5 daughters, Savitri is a 33 year old artisan from Aaspura, Rajasthan. To learn to weave was like a game for her, tying knots with her sisters while they spent time together. Today after 12 years of weaving, she says each knot has empowered her to do better. Her neighbours seek her help in farming because her dedication in her work makes all the difference. Shades of green and white are very prominent in her rugs. She gives credit to cooking for her intense understanding for colors. She says, “I have seen the shade evolving, when the heat touches it.”
