GENERAL INFORMATION AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS

The Kāpus collection uses organic cotton, handspun, handwoven, naturally dyed fabrics. We collaborate with a Khadi Sanghralaya in Maharashtra as well as other weavers in India to customise our fabrics and designs in small batch, ethical production. Our fabric production and printing processes are almost entirely carried out by women artisans.

General Information

100% Handwoven Fabrics

When we first started out we were only working with organic cotton but have now begun exploring other artisan groups in different parts of India that produce handwoven fabrics using yarns which might be mill spun from regular cotton. But we ensure our fabrics are always handwoven.

Other Materials

Aside from handwoven fabric, we also use organic cotton flannel, muslin, canvas and recron either as lining or filling material in certain products in very minimal quantities.

Dyes and Pigments

Our fabrics are naturally dyed with a combination of natural materials. The fabrics do not bleed or leak colour. The prints are all printed with a pigment which is earth friendly and very long lasting. The prints do not bleed at all.

General Recommendations

We recommend that you use a liquid detergent which is pH neutral and use soft water to wash our products. Add the detergent to water prior to the textiles and stir well before adding the textiles to the bath. You may use cold to lukewarm water. Dry in shade and iron with low to medium heat.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Care for Cushion Covers and Table Linen

We recommend you use a pH neutral, liquid detergent without bleaching agents. Use cold or lukewarm water to hand wash or use a gentle machine cycle. Dry in shade. Iron with low to medium heat.

Care for Bed Covers

We recommend you use a pH neutral, liquid detergent without bleaching agents which can damage the naturally processed fabrics we use. Our bed covers are quilted with organic cotton flannel and are therefore large in volume. Due to this we don’t recommend washing our bed covers in the washing machine as the detergent tends to pool and collect on the fabric. We recommend you dry clean our bed covers. Alternatively, you may hand wash with cold or lukewarm water.

Care for Curtains

Our curtains are printed with real leaves and pigment on sheer muslin fabric. Our curtains are washable but we recommend you dry clean so as to avoid even minimal shrinkage.

3. How do I delivery to another address other than my billing address?

5. What happens when delivery is attempted and I’m not there?

The team at This and That will get in touch with you to schedule a suitable time for delivery. If delivery is attempted after scheduling a suitable time and no one is available to receive the delivery a penalty charge is applicable.

6. Will I receive all items in my order at the same time

We will try our best to dispatch everything in groups as and when it is ready. But, if you’d like everything together we can arrange for a consolidated delivery for you.

7. Should I be expected to pay any additional charges?

It may be that certain areas and neighbourhoods require special documentation that have has to obtained for delivery and may attract nominal charges.

8. Why is the delivery charge for multiple cushions so high?

We’re sorry for the inconvenience, our website does not yet have a discount system for multiple cushion deliveries at the moment. While we’re working on them, please call us to get the right quote for delivery charges on cushions.

RETURNS

1. Can I return furniture and other large items at your store?

Most of our items are custom made to order. We do not accept any returns and all items are final sale. Come visit our studio in ahmedabad to be assured of our great quality furniture before you shop with us online. You can also pre-order fabric samples online to select your upholstery fabrics.

2. My order arrived damaged/defective, I want to have it repaired, what is the process?

We are really sorry if your product arrived damaged. We do use robust packaging but sometimes damage can occur in transit. If the product was damaged during transport, we will take it upon ourselves and have it replaced or repaired. Please make sure you make us aware of the damage at the time of delivery. Once you have signed for an item on delivery it cannot be replaced.

3. Can I return a textile product?

Our textiles go through a thorough quality check and we only put out the best quality products. As we work with weavers and other crafts people and use natural materials slight irregularities and variations in the weave or print are normal. We do not accept any returns and all items are final sale.

4. My order arrived damaged/defective, I want to have it repaired, what is the process?

We are really sorry if your product arrived damaged. Please send across images and order details to connect@thisandthat.in so we can respond to your complaint better.
